These are just a few of the pressing issues that will need immediate action when I become your Councillor for Ward 5. For many years City Hall has been doing the same things with all the same people. They need change like never before. New councilors are needed to reflect the City's motto "Diversity our Strength".
It's time for the different voices representing the people of Toronto to be heard in the Council Chamber. That's why I am running to represent Ward 5 in the 2018 municipal election.

Affordable Housing
What do we need? Affordable Housing.
When do we need it? NOW!!
When I am City Councillor for Ward 5 I will advocate on behalf of those who are:
waiting long periods for affordable housing,
suffering due to the frequent rental increases
living in substandard conditions because they cannot afford the high cost for rent.
I will be pushing for changes to the rental laws and to freeze rent increases for a period of time. I will be doing everything within my power to see affordable housing become a reality in the GTA.
Education
I believe the children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way. True words from the great Whitney Houston. THE CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE: Below is just a few of the issues affecting our schools which together with the school boards we'll work to improve.
Reduced funding for afterschool programs of which more is greatly needed.
A Controversial Sex-Ed Curriculum
Little or no tuition assistance for students entering universities and colleges leaving them with huge student loans afterward
We need to work on investing in our children's future by investing in their education.
Crime Prevention
I am your champion for better crime prevention in our community. Too many lives are being lost and families grieving due to the rampant gun violence in the GTA.
It's time to put a stop to all this crime and make the criminals responsible pay. I believe that law abiding citizens should not have to pay for the ones who have no regards for innocent lives by banning handguns.
I will work with all levels of government to get this issue of guns and gangs under control.

Transit System
Transit is an important issue in our city that needs to be addressed. I will push for change in increased funding from the provincial government to fix our aging transit infrastructure and provide a more reliable service for the TTC.
